DAO x Manufacture Perrin: new made-in-France jeans to discover in store
A new wind is blowing through our denim aisles. Manufacture Perrin is pleased to announce the arrival of the DAO brand, creator of sustainable, beautiful, and ethical jeans, made in France. A brand we discovered at the last MIF Expo, whose artisanal, sincere, and committed approach immediately resonated with our own values.
Starting today, you can discover DAO models in our stores in Dijon, Aix-en-Provence, Honfleur, Montceau-les-Mines, and very soon in our new Brest store, opening in September.
DAO, denim reinvented
DAO is the story of a childhood dream that became a collective adventure. Born in Troyes, Davy Dao designed his first jeans in his childhood bedroom. At 24, he flew to Vietnam to understand the inner workings of the textile industry from the inside. What he discovered there pushed him to do the complete opposite: return to France, collect old sewing machines, and sew his first jeans himself, from a small 21 m² studio in Nancy.
Since then, DAO has grown, without ever losing sight of the essentials: local manufacturing, natural materials like French linen or organic cotton, responsible production, and a permanent quest for authenticity. The brand is particularly recognized for its selvedge jeans, fabrics woven slowly on shuttle looms, synonymous with durability and character.
A selection designed for you
At Manufacture Perrin, we have initially chosen to stock four iconic models, available for women and men:
Albert: A men's straight-cut jean, raw, timeless, designed to last.
Paul: A more fitted version, with just the right touch of modernity.
Océane: An elegant and versatile women's jean, that hugs curves without restricting them.
Anaïs: The everyday jean, comfortable, flattering, and 100% made in France.
These models have been carefully selected to complement the denim offering of our long-standing partner 1083, not to replace it. They embody another facet of French savoir-faire, with the same demand for quality and ethics.
DAO and Dijon: a meaningful encounter
While this collaboration is now obvious, it is also the result of a happy coincidence. Even before our encounter with DAO at MIF Expo, the brand was already present in Dijon, in the store Chouette France, which we recently integrated into our network under the brand Manufacture Perrin Dijon. A natural transition to continue promoting locally made in France, with partners who share our vision.
