Manufacture Perrin in Major Reports
A century-old company in the spotlight
Last Saturday, October 6 at 1:40 p.m., our eyes were glued to our televisions and the news magazine Grands Reportages on TF1.
A century-old company: for better or for worse
This first episode of a series entitled "Centennial Company: For Better or for Worse" delved into the daily lives of several managers taking over or relaunching century-old or even multi-centennial companies. Our beautiful Manufacture was among the companies followed by the production company in charge of producing this subject.
Our Director in the spotlight
Particular focus was placed on the career of our Managing Director, Constance Nicaise . Born in Angers, this biomedical engineer by training, joined the company as a saleswoman in the Berthe Aux Grands Pieds boutique located in Nantes (44). She was then entrusted with the responsibility of developing the “ Manufacture Perrin ” boutique network, which currently has 28 points of sale.
In 2018, his career took a new turn when his bosses at the time, Martine and Franck Couturier , asked him to take over from them at the head of the company, accompanied by another employee, Damien Schneider (current President of Perrin).
Celebrating 100 years of the Manufacture Perrin
Departure of historic leaders
The report followed Constance as she prepared for an important event for the company, the celebration of its centenary.
In addition to this celebration, this anniversary also coincided with the retirement of the Couturier couple.
Indeed, although they sold the company 6 years ago, they remained very involved in the daily management of the company until then in order to best support the takeover by the new management team.
The return of a symbolic model
The event also saw Gérard , a retired mechanic with a 54-year career at Perrin, exceptionally return to service. He was responsible for restarting a knitting machine dating from the beginning of the last century. The aim of the operation was to produce, under the conditions of the time, a work sock inseparable from the history of the Manufacture, the famous " Inusable Sock " reference 71.
A tribute to the company's roots
The Perrin report will end with the 100th anniversary celebration organized within the factory itself, transformed into a banquet hall.
Inauguration of a monumental fresco
During this evening, the Breton artist Istraille unveiled the 5-metre high fresco that he created to illustrate Perrin's century of existence.
The emotional farewell of former leaders
Another moment marked the event, the farewell speech of the Couturier couple, delivered in front of the assembly composed of their current and former employees.
A big thank you to the Grands Reportages teams
The entire company would like to thank the Grands Reportages teams and the film crew made up of Guillaume Birot and Claire Delfini .
Viewing available on TF1+
