BERTHE AUX GRANDS PIEDS: THE 100% FRENCH SOCK
A 100% French philosophy
Régis Gautreau entered the world of socks after selling them at markets. Realizing the relevance of his product, the entrepreneur decided to launch his own brand in 1999, Berthe aux Grands Pieds. "A historic name that clicked," recalls the founder. Wanting to offer 100% French products, the latter collaborated in 2003 with the Perrin factory in Montceau-les-Mines, offering it at the same time his distribution strength.
Working all over France
For almost 20 years, Berthe aux Grands Pieds has only worked with French manufacturers. Wanting to diversify, Régis Gautreau has tights made in the south of France, Berthe shoes in the southwest, gloves in Oise and sweaters in collaboration with the Royal Mer manufacturer, near Nantes. But Régis Gautreau wants to bring more than just French manufacturing, the entrepreneur places particular importance on materials. Indeed, the products are made with beautiful materials such as silk, Scottish thread or cashmere.
A simple brand despite impressive figures
With over 350,000 pieces sold worldwide in 2017, Berthe aux Grands Pieds has impressive figures. The brand is worn by well-known personalities such as actor Edouard Baer and actress Sandrine Kiberlain. However, the company remains simple and close to its customers, still testing its new products in the western French markets today. The brand is also very family-oriented. Indeed, Régis Gautreau's daughters have posed as models for the collections and his wife is a sales representative for the brand.
